🇷🇺 Adaptive Taekwondo athlete, Tatyana Starikova, honored with a State Duma of the Russian Federation award

Yesterday, a ceremonial award ceremony for athletes who have shown outstanding results on the international stage took place in the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Among those honored with this high honor is a member of the Russian national team and a Moscow adaptive Taekwondo coach – Tatyana Starikova.

Tatyana demonstrated outstanding success at the 2025 ITF Taekwondo World Championship in Italy, where she won 5 gold and one bronze medal.

In a solemn atmosphere, the athletes were presented with letters of gratitude on behalf of the First Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, I.I. Melnikov.

Welcome speeches were delivered by: a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, V.A. Tsarikhin, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Young Communist League of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Isakov, and the head of the KPRF Sports Club, I.I. Melnikov. They emphasized the friendly nature of the meeting and noted that athletes can count on comprehensive support:

“We want our meeting to be perceived as friendly. In the face of our faction and party, you will always find reliable allies and comrades. Despite the foreign policy difficulties, you continue to demonstrate high results. I am sure that there will be even more victories ahead.”

There was also a ceremony of presenting commemorative medals dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.

Tatyana is not only a successful athlete, but also an adaptive Taekwondo coach, the leader of the “The Same Different” project in the Center for Autism Problems. She helps people with ASD discover new opportunities through adaptive sports.

We sincerely congratulate Tatyana on this well-deserved award!

This event is another important step in recognizing the significance of adaptive sports and inclusive ITF Taekwondo at the highest level 🧩
